Welcome to the maiden post of simPAWtico, a blog dedicated to practical dog training. My goal is to educate and inform regular folks about how how to interact with their dogs to not only make them as well-behaved as possible, but also fully integrated members of a loving family.
So let's cut to the chase!
Having some trouble getting your pooch to listen? People say they've gone to training and read all the books and online articles and watched all the TV shows. But the reason it's not working is because one way or another you haven't acquired the right tools via those methods. Somewhere along the way there's been a breakdown and you haven't been able to make it click. It's like you have an electrician's toolbox to do a plumber's job and you need someone to just say, "Awwweh, here's what you need," and then it's really not that difficult. That's why you're having so much trouble. It's not that you don't have enough time or that you've tried everything, you just don't have the right tools.
